Holas a todos! Estoy ayudando a un amigo es su proceso de liberación.... y ayer le ayudé a instalar Ubuntu 5.04 en su flamante Sony Vaio VGN-FS500P....
La instalación salió de 10... sin problemas.... el tema es que, esta laptop tiene pantalla "wide screen".... y la resolución habitual se configura en 1280x800.... pero por defecto quedó configurada en 1024x768... con lo cual se desaprovecha totalmente las capacidades de ese maquinón.... Quise cambiar la resolución con la herramienta que tienen GNOME... pero no me dá más opciones que 1024x768.... entoncés apelé a mi espíritu hacker y dije: ".. jeje.. vamos a modificar directamente el archivo /etc/X11/xorg.conf, y listo..."..... pero me encontré con que el archivo viene configurado por defecto para 1280x800.... fue entonces que "me hice bola".... Googleando un poco, llegué a encontrar la siguiente URL: http://gentoo-wiki.com/HARDWARE_Sony_VGN-FS500 que indica como configurar el archivo /etc/X11/xorg.conf..... pero modifiqué el archivo de la laptop, pero no carga correctamente X... bah.. directamente no inicia, porque la configuración no está bien... Bajo mi firma, les copio como se configuró el archivo /etc/X11/xorg.conf por defecto... Alguien sabe como configurar estas pantallas wide screen?? Saludos -- Jose C.
