yo lo hice de esta manera, bajas el .tar.gz de la pagina de firefox,
lo descomprimis
y de alli corres el script de instalacion, no se si hay un .deb del 1.5.

He realizado lo siguiente:
#tar -xvzf firefox-1.5.tar.gz
# cd firefox
# ./firefox
y obtengo lo siguiente. De hecho correr el script no funciona
(firefox-bin:3434): Gtk-WARNING **: cannot open display:
:~/firefox#
como que usuario intentas correr?
PD: que ventaja trae el 1.5 sobre el oficial de sarge?
Intento instalar como usuario root
Sarge trae firefox 1.0.4
