hace mucho tiempo que estoy tratando de configurar la resolución
de mi notebook a 1280x800 y no puedo hacerlo.
el máximo en resolución que e conseguido es de 1024x768
agradecería que me guíen para resolver mi problema.

La forma en la que cambio la resolucion es
dpkg-reconfigure xserver-xorg
a pesar que cambie la resolucion a cualquier otra no surge efecto.
no estoy seguro si mi placa de video esta reconocida como debiera.
en el archivo xorg.conf se refiere a una placa inel.

y con el comando lspci tambien describe a una placa intel.
donde esta mi problema ?
sera configuracion de xorg o es el controlador ?
tengo una HP Compaq presario C315LA
agradecería que alguien muestre su xorg.conf para
ver las diferencias, o me oriente sobre el tema.
