ERROR (para variar):
si estas en el shell, puedes hacer un "e=sustitucion", con lo que asignas a la variable $e el valor "sustitucion", y haces un "cat archivo | sed s/\$DIR/$sustitucion/g";
Es un "cat archivo | sed s/\$DIR/$e"...
