Parece que lo de tu tarjeta de sonido, efectivamente, es que te falta el firmware. He encontrado esto en la discusión de un bug: Hi, I've managed to get down to the issue and found out that this is related to the removal of alsa firmware from kernel on Debian, since 2.6.23. The reported issue is fixed by downloading the alsa-firmware package from alsa-project.org, compiling the source and installing it into /lib/firmware/yamaha You need first to create the yamaha dir, which might not be present, and to copy the .fw files. Parece que simplemente tienes que bajarte el firmware de alsa-project.org, copiarlo a /lib/firmware/yamaha e instalar el paquete alsa-firmware-loaders. No hay que recompilar el kernel ni nada. Lo que pasa es que antes el firmware se instalaba con el kernel y ahora lo han quitado, ya que el firmware es "non-free". Hay algunos paquetes para instalar directamente algunos firmware, pero parece que no para la mayoría (no para tu tarjeta, en cualquier caso). Así que ya no tienes excusa, actualiza el kernel!
