Hola, Si quieres sincronizarte con un servidor de tiempo, # apt-get install ntpdate (si tienes el demonio ntp corriendo le haces un /etc/init.d/ntp stop) # ntpdate-debian te pone el sistema en hora.
En modo local tienes el comando date.
