Gnome-shell suele tener problemas con los drivers gráficos cerrados,
tanto de ati como de nvidia... ¿no te funciona el libre (radeon)?

Voy a volver a probar, pero hasta ahora, si no instalo los drivers
fglrx, no funciona la tarjeta ATI, sólo la Intel...
