Gracias a todos aquellos que me contestaron. Lo cierto es que era mi servidor IMAP (Courier) que no aceptaba autentificaciones. Ignoro por que, y al final instale mailutils-imap4d (-Mailutils-based IMAP4 Daemon) que funciono de maravillas. Ah! por cierto imap "solo" no esta en woody (o al menos en varias maquinas mias no aparece como tal). Todavia me quedan ajustes por hacer, pero gracias, especialmente a aquellos que me advirtieron de un cambio de estrategia: desconfiar de mi server imap. Rossy
