�No sabes que m�dulo cargabas en el kernel para que funcionase esa NIC?. Puedes intentar meter una knoppix o una gentoo en tu computador. Si arrancas con ellas autodetectar�n el hard que tienes y posiblemente tu NIC. Haciendo un lsmod podr�s identificar cu�l es el m�dulo que te hace falta para la ethernet.
