Bu hata tr_TR yerelini kullanırsanız ortaya çıkan bir hata. Sorun düzeltmek için ya sistem yerelini en_US.UTF-8'e ayarlayın (dpkg-reconfigure locales komutuyla) ya da /etc/init.d/proftpd betiğinin üst satırlarında bir yerine LANG=en_US.UTF-8 satırını ekleyin sorun düzelecektir.
