As directed in QuickStart, I did a 'make most' running as me (I didn't have TeX installed at the time), and then did a 'make install' running as root. This was with a Debian system that was essentially current as of Oct 22. I haven't done anything un-Debian to my system, that I know of (yet!). Bdale
