Hmm.... Perhaps the floppies don't like using a block size of 18k. I've
found that:
dd if=1440_... of=/dev/fdx bs=1024 count=1440
works quite well. Where ... is whatever disk your installing, and 'x' is
either 0 or 1, whichever points to your 3 1/2 floppy.
