Well, I tried all of those combos, and could not get any of them to work. I tried the changes with both the routers file and the transports file. The odd thing is that neither of the two smails on the linux boxes work with short hostnames, but the smail on our sun does work with short hostnames. I used the exact same config files on the sun as I do on the linux box (basicly taking the stuff your program generates on the linux box, moving it to the sun, and making hostname changes). Jim
