Hi there. I just did my first trial installation of Debian (I'm a former Slackware user). The network driver module list is very limited. I could have user SMC Ultra or 3C503 or NE1000 or NE2000 because I have these cards hanging about, unfortunately non are available. Is there space for additional modules in installation disks ?
If NFS filesystem is selected would it then be also nice to load all relevant client stuff, rpc.portmapper etc... Also I did a mirror of all debian distribution to one spare disk and found some very minor things. Could some of these be links as they appear to be same ?? ---- snippet of mirror log follows ---- Got debian-0.93/ms-dos/Packages.gz 32188 Got debian-0.93/ms-dos/Packages 108885 Got debian-0.93/binary/Packages.gz 32188 Got debian-0.93/binary/Packages 108885 Got debian-0.93/binary/base/.message 170 Got contrib/ms-dos/Packages.gz 620 Got contrib/ms-dos/Packages 1144 Got contrib/binary/Packages.gz 620 Got contrib/binary/Packages 1144 Got non-free/ms-dos/Packages.gz 3474 Got non-free/ms-dos/Packages 10531 Got non-free/binary/Packages.gz 3474 Got non-free/binary/Packages 10531 Cheers... -- Lauri Tischler, Network Admin Tel: +358-0-47846331 Finlandia Interface Oy Fax: +358-0-47846500 Piispanportti 12 (PL 61) GSM: +358-40-5569010 02211 Espoo FINLAND Internet: [EMAIL PROTECTED]
