Hmm.. at least with recent versions of sendmail you can specify the list as :include:/filename, then whoever has access to the file can administer the list. You need root to set it up originally, but the same thing applies for setting up a new account (e.g. majordomo). I just checked and smail is documented to support this mechanism. -- Raul
