Yes, I've taken it. Even though it is not completely finished I'll make a release next week so that people that need NIS can have it. It will be called something like nis-1.00-1.deb. It includes the latest and very stable NIS server (ypserv-0.17) that can serve as master and slave, the latest yppasswdd, the BSD ypbind, and the rest of the regular client stuff.
