I'm wondering if my getting the wrong time zone may have been caused by a bug in one of the installation scripts (couldn't possibly have been my own mistake ;) ). I don't know where to look, but maybe someone who does might want to look to see if when a user installs and selects the Mountain time zone, that the right file is being copied to /etc/localtime. The right file would be /usr/lib/zoneinfo/US/Mountain (or /usr/lib/zoneinfo/MST7MDT) not /usr/lib/zoneinfo/MST.
