In /etc/printcap, you have a line (or entry, between a pair of colons) that is:
:mx#__: what is in the __ is the largest size file lp will pass to the printer. I forget the format. If you change it to :mx#0: it will allow any size file through. The only limitation will be the size of the partition in which the spool sits. -- David L.
