1. I don't think you need the "/". But then I've never used 0.93. (My experience with Debian started with the InfoMagic Debian "1.0".) 2. Once you've done the debian.rules binary, check the package version number with "dpkg-deb --info svgalib-1.29.0.deb". If it says 1.29-0, then doing "dpkg -i svgalib-1.29.0.deb" should work fine and replace your 1.28 debian package with the 1.29 one you made. Christian
