dpkg -S crt1.o This will find the file if it is already installed on your system from a Debian package. If you don't have a certain file installed, and you want to find out which Debian package contains it, you can do a search on /debian/unstable/Contents (or /debian/stable/Contents) from a Debian ftp site.
