thanks....yeah, i thought it was a good idea too. it tells (without any detail) exactly why the package is in non-free in a form that is easily used for statistical purposes. that way we could tell exactly how many packages are in non-free and for what reason at any given moment. updating these statistics could be built in to the scripts which process the upload queue. it would be good to also have a human-readable paragraph or two (perhaps in a separate file) that explains it in more detail as others have suggested, and a reason file for vrms. craig
