The kernel source has firmware with source for the keyspan PDA USB serial dongle (linux-2.6.17.7/drivers/usb/serial/keyspan_pda.S). http://homepage3.nifty.com/StudioBreeze/software/bin/usbmidi-20040829.tar.gz has firmware with source for some M-audio midisport midi interfaces. sdcc is needed for compilation.
