Package: wnpp
Severity: wishlist

I intend to package udftools.

Package: udftools
License: GPL
URL: http://sourceforge.net/projects/linux-udf/
         http://www.csc.calpoly.edu/~bfennema/udf.html

Description:

This package contains a number of user-space tools for creating
filesystems in the UDF (Universal Disk Format), which are primarily
used for DVDs and sometimes CD-ROMs.

mkudf - Format a device, creating an empty UDF filesystem
chkudf - Verify a UDF filesystem
cdrwtool - Low-level drive management (e.g. set writing speed, format)
cdinfo - Output low-level info on the contents of the disk in a drive
pktsetup - Set up a packet writing device (/dev/pktcdvd0) for a drive

Note that you need Linux 2.4 to mount UDF filesystems. (The kernel
patches that accompany these tools are not currently packaged for
Debian, but are being merged into the 2.4 kernel tree.)

Cheers,

  Richard
