You may review the initial package I've uploaded to http://git.debian.org/?p=pkg-php/php-symfony-yaml.git (rebuild with git-buildpackage) and eventually tell me if there's any impact on doctrine. Note that the path to the YAML files will be /usr/share/php/SymfonyComponents/YAML/sfYaml*.php ... unless someone suggests another option.
