Ah, no. I had understood what you meant. I was just asking a completely unrelated question. I am assuming you want to go ahead being the maintainer. So in that case I'll review the package myself tomorrow and point a sponsor at your package so that it gets in. The charset detection issues seem to be handled well by upstream.
