Hi, I've also looked into packaging jgit, but didn't make this an ITP since I wasn't confident enough. What I've done so far: - contact the protobuf Debian maintainer. libprotobuf-java should get an update soon with proper maven packaging. - complained to jgit upstream about the copyright headers: https://bugs.eclipse.org/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=359407 - Made Matthias Sohn to publish his tag signing gpg key. The key however doesn't have any signatures attached yet: Key Id 140C2876 - got the build depends:
