oprofile is needed for something a cow-orker of mine is packaging. He's packaging Prospect ( http://sourceforge.net/projects/prospect/ ) which is maintained upstream by yet another cow-orker.
I have recently packaged another kernel module package and am working on another. Since I spent the time needed to figure out how this very tricky type of package works I offered to do oprofile as well. Marcelo, I see that you expressed interest in packaging this. If you're still interested and can get in done in a timely manner I want you to do it. If you're not let me know and I can work on it right away.
