Larry, Just like you, I'm not a debian developer, just an enthusiast. I guess that's why I did not check for ITPs before packaging dict-revo. As well as I did not notice first that your mail was CCed to the relevant bug. That's why I redo my answer.
When you first mailed me, I did package it the lazzy way. I did use the dictd files available upstream without noticing that they where ways outdated. As I told you in private email, I repackaged it this week end to regenerate those files directly from the xml source files. I stumbled in the same problems than the one described in the bug report. Upstream used to use java to do the xml->html (and the lynx to do html->txt). But I was luckier than the previous trys, since using xsltproc did do the trick for me. I was lucky here because when discussing with upstream, it seems that the previous version of this program where not able to do the transformation (upstream have a Suse distribution, and the xsltproc there painfully segfaults when facing the provided xsl and xml files). I would like to thank Christian Marillat here for its NMUs on libxslt. It seems that without his work, mine would have been lots harder. Thanks, Christian ! Ok, now, here is the current situation: revo-dict is packaged in a proper way, and I'm now in contact with upstream to given them the ability to generate the dictd files again. In the same time, I'm currently in the process of becoming an official debian developper myself. When I applyied, I did not plan to become the maintainer of any package (I'm an active member of the debian french traslation team, and I'm sick of asking for passwords on each debian CVS I translate). But now, the situation is different. So, to answer your question, Yes, I plan to officially maintain my package inside Debian as soon as it is possible to me. Thanks for pointing this RFP bug to me.
