I've asked once more, this time on debian-legal and the Python logo distribution remains an issue [1].
Therefore, I've further worked the package to build with a DFSG tarball [2]. The package is ready to go into RFS that way with disabled tests for now. I'm going to ask upstream if he could use another image.
