Did you contact Joe Phillips? He has packaged opensc 0.7.0 [1] and is in the Debian new maintainer queue [2]. He is not very reactive so maybe you are a better person to package opensc and take care of the other aegypten project package. Do not hesitate to contact me if you need help.
