If you read the original thread I linked, you’ll see the code is derived from a different project and it was originally mixed ASL 1.1 and LGPL-2.1 and was at some point relicensed by the j-d-u authors, which they were not legally allowed to do. This makes the code not acceptable in Debian. I’m also very much against of packaging an obsolete and buggy old version of the code when we already have the new one in Debian. -- Cheers, Andrej
