(Admittedly I'm hitting some issues on the packaging but hopefully I can resolve them with some help.)
You should join #debian-rust on OFTC and ping Pintoch. He made an automated script to make tree sitter packaging a lot easier. Rust team will also help with any other issues you encounter along the way as well as help with sponsorship.
