Hello Ia am sympathetic, but I have no time to deal with a change of license. This is what we want: 1. a free license for those who develop non-commercial open source software using Swiss Ephemeris Be aware that BOTH conditions must be fulfilled: open source, AND non-commercial. 2. a paid license for those who produce commercial software or use Swiss ephemeris in a closed software commercial situation this means a) they sell software containing Swiss Ephemeris, for more than a reasonable copy fee b) they run or setup a commercial service, where Swiss Ephemeris is used inside for computations The problem with GPL is that does not disallow 2.b, ie. anybody can take sfotware published under GPL and use it in his commercial setup, e.g. an astrological web service, to make profits without paying a penny to us. If such a person uses a osftware product containing a legally licensed copy of Swiss Ephemeris, for example Solar Fire, inside his service, this is fine, he does not need an extra license from us. But if he simply uses our source code, we do mind. We want him to get a license from us.
