OK, everyone did introductions, so what the heck. :) I'm a sysadmin, I do mixed Linux/Windows networks, and windoze -> Linux migrations. Or did, I should say, because last year I moved to a rural community in the Northwestern United States with way more cows than people, and not many computers. So most of my income is from freelance writing, working from home.
I'm 47 years old, and have had a lot of different jobs. I got my first PC in 1993- it was a Macintosh LC II. Nice machine, but when I went shopping for something newer and kewler, IBM clones were about $1000 USD cheaper. Got a Tandy 386sx running MS-DOS 5 and Windows 3.1. Got on the Internet in 1994, running Trumpet Winsock and Netscape 1.0. 2400-baud modem. wheee! I futzed around with Slackware and Red hat in 1996, and have not looked back. I'm happy that Erinn has gotten Debian-women going. I'm no coder, but I'm sure I'll find something useful to do. :) -- ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Carla Schroder this message brought to you by Libranet 2.8 and Kmail ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
