A big thanks to the Debian people, especially you guys on debian-www. You help us a lot towards achieving our common goal. Good News: The item has been taken off the agenda of the agriculture and fishery council. The word from diplomatic circles is, that the council will reschedule for January 31st on the "General Affairs & External Relations Council". But we did not just achieve a rescheduling but now the parliament has time until the February 21st to initiate a restart of the proceedings concerning software patents. (This is because the council has to announce their position in the European Parliament during a plenary session and the next dates for that are Jan. 26th and 27th and Feb. 21st. Since they have not finalised their position before the first two dates, they can announce it at the earliest on Feb. 21st.) Right now we are restructuring for a successive campaign to get support for the restart. Would debian-www be willing to further support this goal? The "agriculture and fishery" council topic ended with a fortunate outcome, that means the "Something 'fishy' going on at the fishery meeting" is outdated. Maybe you could replace it with a temporary banner from http://demo.ffii.org/online_banners.en.php (I suggest "Dear Minister, please click here!") until we have something more adequate.
