What I'd like to see would be more info on a package before downloading it... packages with separate -doc packages are very nice here: you can get the -doc, peruse it, and make an *informed* decision on whether you likely to need/have use for the package. I'm not saying every package should have a separate -doc package (some things are just too small), but a <package>-readme wouldn't be too bad... I think. On a related note: can someone explain how one tames the `search' system on www.debian.org? There seems to be no way to limit searches to categories (like, "only package descriptions") And one more: will apt (the ui) support searching package descriptions in addition to just the package name (which, IMHO, is pretty dumb to begin with...
