Package: www.debian.org Version: 20020305 Severity: normal
The page http://www.debian.org/Bugs/server-request has incorrect information about the way that the request server operates. Specifically, it claims that it's possible to get information about packages by searching for a substring that is part of the package name: index packages package Requests the index pages of bugs in the system for all packages containing the string package. The search term is a case insensitive substring. The bug index for each matching package will be sent in a separate message. If you send a command of that form, for example index packages tetex you get back a message stating that there are no bugs for the package tetex, rather than separate messages with the index for each tetex-* package. (This bug may apply to debbugs rather than the website, however, the information on the website is incorrect as well, and needs to be updated to reflect the actual functionality of debbugs.)
