Linux International has put in a request that we recognize the Linux
trademark on our various pages. The original communication is attached.

I understand that it is a pain to keep up with the trademarks. From a
legal perspective, however, it would be good if we did.

Does anyone have an opinion on how to handle this?

Hi,

In times of legal issues, it would help Linux greatly if all companies that:

o used the registered trademark "Linux" in their websites or marketing
materials would properly attribute that mark to the owner, Linus
          Torvalds by including the sentence:

Linux(R) is a trademark of Linus Torvalds in several countries.

o had trademarks which included the word "Linux" in them (for example,
"Linux International") register the trademark with the Linux Mark
Institute (www.linuxmark.org), a non-profit that tracks usage of
the trademark "Linux". Rest assured that this is not a "get rich
quick scheme", and that all of the money paid in licensing fees goes
into a war chest to protect the mark itself, which in turn protects
          Linux.

As quickly as possible, please make sure your companies are in compliance

Warmest regards,

Jon "maddog" Hall
