Yes, this seems to be a general problem of debian: lots of people invert
nice utilities and webinterfaces and whatsnot, but very seldom those are
linked from the debian website.

Andreas Barth mailed -devel about it last month[1], but his mail has no
further instructions other then on which machine and port the ldap
daemon is listing.  He will probably be able to point you to some docs
though...
