Dear Friends and Artists,

Here is the latest news from L.A. Center for Digital Art!

LACDA has been asked to be a featured gallery for the L.A. County Museum of Art
(LACMA) "Muse Art Walk" on April 22nd. (http://www.lacma.org).

LACDA has built a large mobile center wall unit (designed to be able to install
work utilizing electronic equipment as well as display flat art) and two walls
creating window display space as well as interior wall space. The total created
34 linear feet of new walls with new and upgraded lighting allowing us to
exhibit more art by more artists (you!). It all looks really great and actually
makes the gallery appear larger, we are quite pleased with the result.

Juried Competition winner Dominic Rouse's show was shipped directly from LACDA
to be exhibited at Benham Gallery in Seattle (http://www.benhamgallery.com/).

Things are taking off in Gallery Row. Bert Green Fine Art (the gallery directly
across the street from LACDA) had an incredible show featuring paintings by
Clive Barker (writer and movie maker). He sold nearly $40,000 in the opening
day (http://bgfa.us/). INMO Gallery newly opened in the very large space next
to Bert Green. CreWest Gallery is having their grand opening March 11
(http://www.crewest.com/). Gallery Row galleries are now having monthly
marketing meetings designed to increase traffic and attract collectors and
other buyers. (http://galleryrow.org/)

LACDA gallery director Rex Bruce appeared in a panel "Synapse" at Otis College
of Art and Design and engaged in a lively discussion about establishing a
healthy connection between artists using technology and the traditional art
establishment.

Gallery curators from Niche L.A. and Lounge 441 (specializing in digital and
media art) have contacted LACDA and will be looking through our portfolio of
artists and meeting with me to collaborate on curating upcoming shows.
(http://www.niche.la/) Niche L.A. is operated by Nic Cha Kim who also serves as
President/Co-Founder of Gallery Row Organization (GRO) and Resident Producer of
Lodestone Theatre Ensemble. Lounge 441 is operated by Jason Waters who is
Executive Director/Founder of ArtistSalon; Arts & Culture Board Director of the
Downtown Los Angeles Neighborhood Council (DLANC); and Co-Chair of the Arts,
Aesthetics, Culture & Education (AACE) Committee.

See LACDA on ABC7 "Eye on L.A." in a feature on galleries in the downtown art
scene at the following link. (http://lacda.com/press/eyeonla.html). High speed
recommended.

the Month" February 16-March 2006.

August Highland (the above artist) wrote us this very kind note:

"I would like to mention that LACDA's recognition and support of my work has
been an invaluable source of inspiration to me, that the personal relationship
that I have developed with Rex Bruce is very important to me and that I
consider myself fortunate to be able to consider him as a friend as well as a
curator who has validated me in many ways both as a person and an artist. In
the bizarre and wonderful power-industry of the art world, it's always a gift
when an artist finds a curator like Rex who takes a genuine interest in and
plays a supportive role in the career and personal life of one of the hundreds
of artists that are lucky enough to be able to list LACDA on their resume. I
thank you for this."

Thanks to everyone for your brilliance and continuing support!

Yours,

Rex Bruce
