You can't [actually, you don't want to] mix packages from Debian and Ubuntu (or any Debian based distribution). Just one small example: A package foo version 1.0 for ubuntu may have a small patch that isn't applied in Debian. Upgrading from foo_1.0ubuntu.deb to Debian/Sid's foo1.1.deb may break that program (and your system ;). ...Doing the other way around (Ubuntu on Debian) would be a bad idea too, for the same reason.
