Hi, I decided to install Debian 6.0.7 on my AMD64 old Compact Presario. The installation process went well (as far as I know) until it was time to start up my new system. As it was scrolling through the set-up after the GRUB menu it aborted and then the monitor went to sleep. That was as far as I have been able to go. I have re-installed it a few times with the same problem occurring each time. I am new to debian and unfamiliar with the terminology...Just a beginner. Does anyone know a fix for this? Paul
