This problem indeed seems to be overcome in the newer version 2.x, as I myself have tried out on the search term "text" on the test content page https://moinmoin2.pythonanywhere.com/ . The search mechanism has been refined (being called "whoosh"), introducing a "scoring system" to rank search results (cf. https://moinmoin2.pythonanywhere.com/+serve/docs/user/search.html?highlight=score ).
