Chanop sent me the files he had this problem with and I was able to
reproduce it. Problem is - I have no idea what's going wrong here. So
I am bringing it up on this list in the hope that some X11 expert
can tell me what's going wrong.
When I run LyX with the eps file included I get the following error:

Error: Couldn't find per display information

XFree86.0.log contains this message:

Auth name: XDM-AUTHORIZATION-1 ID: -1
Now I have no idea how this happens. I can't see how gs gets the
authorization key and I don't know what gs-aladdin does differently
from gs either. I tried to ltrace gs but with ltrace the interpreter
just hangs in XSendEvent :(
Any help would be much appreciated.
