Hi! I'd like to start with a huge thank you to everyone who works on Debian. I've just recently installed Woody on an SGI Indy and could not believe how easy it was. I was playing around in X before my friend had finished downloading the 8th CD for his distribution (Which would of course only run on a x86).
Anyways - I ran out and got the XFree86 4.2.0 debs from "http://people.debian.org/~branden/sid/mips" and installed them. Unfortunately something must have gone terribly wrong. I'll paste the log below. I'm not sure if I've blundered (new to Debian....), or something else. I'll have a crack at figuring out the problem, but since everything else has _always_ worked perfectly I'm not sure where to start. I've checked for "/usr/X11R6/lib/modules" ... the directory doesn't exist. Prior to the upgrade, X worked flawlessly. Anyways - here's the log: XFree86 Version 4.2.0 / X Window System (protocol Version 11, revision 0, vendor release 6600) Release Date: 11 March 2002 If the server is older than 6-12 months, or if your card is newer than the above date, look for a newer version before reporting problems.
