Previously (4.2.0-pre1v1 and before) the following worked: startx >! var/log/startx.eeyore 2>&1
After the screens (xinerama setup) would get to the point where they were both showing the crosshatch pattern and then X would exit. But now: startx works. (i.e. no out/err redirection) So was there a change in how startx or associated scripts deal with out and err before and after?
