This causes nothing but problems. I've seen it cause X to report the usual "no screens found" with nvidia, ati, and matrox cards. It probably breaks many others too. There is no reason that I can see for that question to ever default to yes. All I have ever seen is it cause X to not function for countless users. It is probably the single biggest cause for X to not work after configuration.
