Package: xfree86-common Version: 4.2.1-7 Severity: critical Since the lastest upgrade (from 4.2.1-6) I can no longer login through xdm. I keep seeing these errors on xdm.log:
AUDIT: Mon Jun 9 12:03:40 2003: 7369 X: client 2 rejected from local host Auth name: XDM-AUTHORIZATION-1 ID: -1 I looked at bugreports of xdm and added this line to xdm-config: DisplayManager*AuthName: MIT-MAGIC-COOKIE-1 Magically, the xdm look changed back to it's original state (colorful, instead of a plain b&w), but I'm still not able to login (same error on xdm.log). I also had to manually remove stale auth files! I think this is not xdm related, but a general GRAVE packaging problem of the whole xfree stuff. I'm also NOT able to downgrade to 4.2.1-6. apt-get install xfree86-common=4.2.1-6 don't find the package!
