Note that the corruption seen on the screenshot isn't the same as the
initial root weave.

Definitely looks like a driver acceleration issue to me - if Option
"NoAccel" works around the problem, you could try isolating the
offending acceleration primitive using the "XaaNo..." options.

Have you verified this isn't any of the other bugs reported about the
savage driver?
