I'm trying to setup X on an Alpha running Woody and failing miserably. The video card's an old Diamond with the ARK2000PV chipset. When debconf prompts me for a driver, "ark" isn't in the list of proposals. If I choose "vga", I get X on the lower half-screen at 640x480 (not cool). I looked around a little and realized that the "ark_drv.so" file isn't on the drive, even though the xserver-xfree86 package is installed. The number version is correct: 4.1.0-16 . I've tried reading the docs, tutoriels and using google but didn't come up with anything. What is going on?
